The Deanery #3 is one of the eight new deaneries recently created out of the existing seven, making a total of 15 deaneries in the Diocese. This is to accommodate the expansion and the growing needs of the Diocese. This news was announced last weekend on Saturday, April 9. Our Deanery (#3) is comprised of the following parishes:

  • All Saints Newman Center, Tempe
  • Corpus Christi Parish, Phoenix
  • Holy Spirit Parish, Tempe
  • Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Tempe
  • St. Andrew the Apostle, Chandler
  • St. Benedict, Phoenix
  • St. Columba Kim Mission, Chandler
  • St. Margaret, Tempe

I am grateful to the Bishop and the Presbyterial Council for considering me for this responsibility. With your prayers and support and relying on God, I will try my best to serve God and the people entrusted to me with love and humility. Please find attached a list with all the deaneries in the Diocese.

The Holy Triduum

The Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday) refers to the three last days of Jesus's life on earth before the Resurrection. Yesterday, we celebrated the Mass of the Lord’s Supper. Today, Good Friday, we have several community prayer times throughout the day. Please check the parish news below for the Good Friday event schedules. On Saturday, we will celebrate the Easter Vigil at 8 pm. We will begin with the Easter Fire outside in the St. John Bosco Courtyard. During the Vigil, we will welcome five new people into our Catholic faith as they become fully initiated members of our Church through the waters of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist for the first time. Please visit our parish website or check the bulletin for Holy Week and Easter liturgical schedules.

Happy Easter

I wish you a beautiful and blessed Easter. We look forward to a wonderful Easter celebration this year. Please note that the Easter Sunday Mass times are at 6am, 8am, 10am and noon. We anticipate a full church with standing room for some of the Easter Masses. We have made arrangements for additional sitting areas to accommodate the overflow. Our Hospitality ministers will assist you with finding a place to sit.

We have two exciting new events happening on Easter Sunday this year: The Easter Egg Hunt for children, Preschool - 5th grade, in the courtyard after the 10am Mass and the Easter Basket raffle draw.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Happy Easter and God's Blessings.
