Advent Penance Service

12-17-2021Weekly Flocknote MessageFr. James Aboyi, VC

I invite you and your family and friends to join us for our parish Advent Penance Service at 7pm on Tuesday, December 21 in the St. John Bosco Catholic School (SJB) Multi-purpose Room (MPR). We expect about 10 priests from our Deanery to attend. We will start with a Penitential Service which will then be followed by individual Confessions.

New Parish Database System

I hope everyone has received a copy of our Christmas Newsletter in the mail by now. Please contact the parish office if you have not received your copy so we can mail one to you. One of the highlights in the newsletter is the introduction of our new parish database system, “Realm.” We will begin rolling it out in January. Unlike our current database, DonorPerfect, which is designed principally for small businesses, Realm is designed specifically for churches. Realm will enable us to consolidate several other software and programs we use, such as Ministry Scheduler Pro and Faith Direct, into one program. It will also help us to strengthen our engagement with you and new parishioners. We are currently working on the transition from the other software and programs into Realm. We will give you more information about Realm in the weeks ahead.

Merry Christmas to our St. John Bosco School Community
We thank God for His blessings on our school community through this year, 2021. Last Thursday, the school community went on Christmas break and will resume in early January. I thank the students, teachers, staff and parents for a very successful 2021. My special thanks to everyone who helped plan the end of the year parties, Christmas plays and the Christmas Concert. Trusting in the Lord, we look forward to another successful year in 2022.

Advent Resource

Each year the Diocese of Phoenix puts out an Advent and Christmas Resource for Families which includes videos, prayers, blessings, songs and lots more for many of the special days between now and the beginning of the year! Click here to see it now.

Have a wonderful weekend and remain blessed!
