Ministry Fair, Harvest Fest and Arizona Rosary Celebration

10-13-2019Weekly ReflectionFr. James Aboyi

Dear Parishioners,

I thank Jay Iole, Chettie Dodson, the Knights of Columbus and everyone who helped last weekend to make our Ministry Fair very successful. Special thanks also to the members of all the ministries that participated in the Fair. I was glad to see good participation and big signups in the different ministries. May God continue to bless you all for the generous giving of your time, talents and treasures that keep our parish running.

Harvest Fest

I look forward to another exciting event at the St. John Bosco Harvest Fest next weekend. I invite everyone to come and show your support for our school after the 5 pm Mass this Saturday, October 19. There will be lots of fun: a costume contest, haunted house, beer & wine garden, raffle baskets, food trucks, lip sync battle, bouncy houses, cake walk, petting zoo, pumpkins for sale and more! Please invite your family, friends and neighbors to come join us at the event.

Arizona Rosary Sunday

You are invited to participate in the 44th Arizona Rosary Celebration, an annual event in the Diocese of Phoenix, next Sunday, October 20, at the Phoenix Convention Center from 2:00 pm to 4:15 pm. The Most Rev. Thomas J. Olmsted, Bishop of Phoenix, will preside. This year’s Arizona Rosary Celebration is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Diocese of Phoenix and the Knights of Columbus. In honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe during this Jubilee year commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Diocese of Phoenix, we look up to her as a model of faithfulness to God’s grace and the greatest missionary whom God sent to evangelize the New World.

This celebration includes praying the Holy Rosary in front of the Blessed Sacrament, Blessing Procession, Benediction and music. Confessions will be available from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 pm. and a pre-program concert will commence at 1:30 pm. The keynote address will be delivered by Rev. Robert Gonzalez, Parochial Vicar, St. John the Evangelist Parish, Tucson, AZ. Admission is Free. All Catholic schools, parishes, organizations and groups are invited to participate.

I am so glad to hear that a number of our Altar Servers, Knights of Columbus and many families will be participating in the event this year. I thank the Knights of Columbus for providing a free bus ride to the event. The bus will leave from our parish at 1:00 pm and return after the event at 4:15 pm. If you are interested in riding the bus, please sign up in the parish lobby or call the parish office.

Thank you and Remain Blessed.

Fr. James
