Parish Changes and Updates

07-28-2019Weekly ReflectionFr. James Aboyi

Dear Parishioners,

I would like to inform you of the resignation of Mr Bob Prezkop as our Parish Pastoral Council President and Coordinator of the Church Building Committee. The reason for his resignation is private. Bob has served our parish community tirelessly with dedication and great leadership over the past several years. On behalf of the parish community, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Bob for his commitment and personal sacrifices to our parish community. I know the likely question most of us may ask at this point may be “How will this impact the plans for our new Church building?” I do not in anyway want to minimize the impact of Bob’s resignation on our strategic plans for our new Church building, however I assure you that everything will be okay with the plans. Going forward, we are in the process of reconstituting the building committee to continue from where we are.

I trust in God that he will see us through to the end (Psalm 127:1).

Introducing New Ministries

I am so glad to inform you of two new ministries that were approved by the Parish Council recently: The Event Committee and Magnificat Moms Ministry. The Event Committee will be responsible for planning and organizing parish events that involve the whole community such as parish dinner, fiesta, etc. This committee will be coordinated by a team of core-members including: Lani Gore, Bette Laatsch, Carole Ellenberger, Cathy Templeton, Gayle Siewert, Jay Lole, Kathy Kunasek and Marilyn Johnston. They will announce to us about the next parish event soon. Please join me in thanking them for their willingness to help us serve in this ministry.

The Magnificat Moms Ministry was introduced out of the necessity to reach out to the young mothers in our parish community. This ministry will be coordinated by Molly Barlow. We will have a formal introduction of the ministry with pulpit announcement and presentation in the coming weeks to give us more details about how this ministry will serve our parish community. Again, join me in thanking Molly for her willingness to lead this initiative to help us reach out to the young mothers in our community.

Two other ministries that are geared towards children and youth are currently in the planning stage and will be introduced to us by the Fall. Please mark your calendar and reserve the weekend of October 5th & 6th for our Parish Ministry Fair. We currently have 37 ministries that will be participating in the Ministry Fair, including the two new ones. We will give you more information on the Ministry Fair in the next few weeks.

Thank you and Remain Blessed.

Fr. James
